SM Faisal Named Winner Of Young Leader Of The Year Award

PUTRAJAYA, April 21 (Bernama) -- NAZA Group of Companies' joint executive chairman, SM Faisal SM Nasimuddin, has been named winner of the Young Leader of The Year at the Global Leadership Awards (GLA) 2012. At the youthful age of 32, Faisal’s leadership has strengthened NAZA, Malaysia’s largest diversified conglomerate consisting 43 companies thus far, to greater heights. He received the award as an acknowledgement of his exemplary contributions towards global post-recession economic development. Meanwhile, Executive Chairman of Westports Malaysia, G.Gnanalingam and Managing Director of Malaysia Airports Holdings Berhad, Bashir Ahmad received the Lifetime Achievement Award. The Chairman and Managing Director of Project Support Services Asia Sdn Bhd and Benflex Sdn Bhd (Construction and Maintenance), President and Group Chief Executive for Permodalan Nasional Berhad (PNB) Hamad Kama Piah Che Othman (Investment Sector) while the Chief Executive Officer of Westports Malaysia, Ruben Emir Gnanalingam has been named winner for the Logistics Sector. Chief Executive Officer of Malaysian Convention and Exhibition Bureau (MyCEB) Zulkefli Sharif was winner in the Meeting, Incentives, Conventions and Exhibition (MICE) sector, President and CEO of Return 2 Green Sdn Bhd Prof Ramaness Parasuraman (Renewable Energy Sector), Founder and Group Chief Executive Officer of Sedania Group, Azrin Mohd Noor took the Technology Sector award. Meanwhile, Chairman of Al Khonji Group of Companies and Omani Group for Contracting Materials, Khalil Abdullah Mohammed Al Khonji was named the Philanthropist of the year, Joint Managing Director for Apollo Hospitals Group, Suneeta Reddy (Masterclass Woman Entrepreneur of the year) and Gusi Peace Prize Foundation’s Founder and Chairman, Ambassador Barry Gusi (International CSR Award of the Year). International Trade and Industry Minister Mustapa Mohamed presented the trophies to winners at the Putrajaya International Convention Centre (PICC) here on Friday night. GLA, the grandest and most prestigious award event is to recognise and honour prominent figures and leaders as drivers and contributors of their respective industries.
