Social media users urged not to post personal photos, details

Manama, Oct. 25 (BNA): The General Director of Anti-corruption and Economic and Electronic Security said that the department is monitoring cases of social media misuse, including the threat messages recently received by some social media users who posted personal photos and information. He said that the department has not received cases related to the issue, and called upon social media users to avoid posting personal images or information such as telephone numbers to prevent the exploitation of the data in fraud cases. He warned of legal steps to be taken based on the department's security and legal duties against exploitation, incitement or lawbreaking activities through social media.
