Sooronbay Jeenbekov commemorates victims of June events of 2010

Bishkek, June 10, 2020 / Kabar /. President of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbay Jeenbekov today, June 10, paid tribute to those killed on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the June 2010 events, his press service said.
The head of state laid flowers at the Tears of Mothers memorial complex in Osh. A memorial prayer was read.
In a conversation with relatives of the victims and participants in the events, Sooronbay Jeenbekov noted that the traces of those tragic days have not yet been erased from people's memory.
“The tears of mothers are not forgotten, the memory of our fallen compatriots will always be in our hearts,” the President said.
The head of state once again expressed condolences to the relatives of the victims, recalled that he was a direct witness to those bloody days, saw everything with his own eyes.
“We have stood with you to put an end to the conflict, restore order, and continue the peaceful life of people. I remember everything. With all my heart I feel the pain and sadness of every compatriot who has lost a loved one,” the President said, wishing that this tragic event would never happen again.
Sooronbay Jeenbekov emphasized that the June events are a reminder of the need to preserve the integrity of the state and interethnic harmony.
“We are a multinational people that for centuries lived in harmony, kinship and brotherhood. Our ancestors lived in unity, creating the glorious history of the ancient city of Osh. Each of us must remember the commandments of our ancestors and maintain international peace and harmony. We will develop our country by joint efforts,” said President Sooronbay Jeenbekov.
President Jeenbekov arrived in Osh Oblast for a two-day working visit. On the first day of the trip Sooronbay Jeenbekov honored the memory of those who died during the June events, laid flowers at the memorial complex “Tears of Mothers”.on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the June events in Osh.
Ten years ago, on June 10, 2010 the clashes between Uzbeks and Kyrgyz have started in the south of Kyrgyzstan.
Hundreds of people were killed during the ethnic conflict. Dozens of people remain missing.
