Southern Governor holds weekly Majlis

Manama, Apr. 25 (BNA): Southern Governor Shaikh Khalifa bin Ali bin Khalifa Al Khalifa received at his weekly Majlis in the Southern Governorate today dignitaries, senior officers, the intelligentsia and media persons. He welcomed them, stressing keenness to carry out the directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Premier, to reach out to citizens and cater for their needs. He said direct and continuous meetings is an inherited custom from the fathers and forefathers-an approach that is a source of pride in the Southern Governorate. The Southern Governor also underlined keenness to follow up on the implementation of HRH the Premier’s directives at the Cabinet meeting concerning the construction of occasion halls to cater for citizens’ needs on various occasions. He pointed out the governorate’s progress regarding the construction of two halls in Al-Dour and Zallaq, in addition to a study to construct another hall in Riffa. The Southern Governor affirmed the ongoing preparations of the Southern Governorate, in cooperation with the Police Directorate, for the Holy month of Ramadan, praising the efforts of the police officers in ensuring people’s safety. On his part, the Southern Governorate Police Director General Brigadier Hamad Ali Al Merri expressed thanks and respect to the Southern Governor for the governorate’s recent kind gesture in holding an honouring ceremony for the directorate’s officers.  The audience praised keenness of the Southern Governor to cater for their needs and boost cooperation with the relevant parties to achieve integration and coordination in serving people in the Southern Governorate.
