Speaker backs health programmes

Manama, June 19 (BNA): The Council of Representatives expressed support to all efforts and initiatives to upgrade the health sector and enhance the standard of services. Speaker Ahmed bin Ibrahim Al-Mullah voiced the stance during a meeting which was attended by the Supreme Council for Health (SCH) President Lieutenant-General Dr. Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdulla Al-Khalifa, Health Minister Faeqa bint Said Al-Saleh and Mps. The Speaker backed plans to introduce the health insurance scheme for citizens and said that the council would push forward laws and legislations which would benefit Bahrainis and serve the national interests. He hailed the directives of His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al-Khalifa to bolster cooperation between legislative and executive branches of government.
