Speaker hails Crown Prince’s US visit

Manama, Dec. 1(BNA): The successful visit of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister to the United States of America was hailed. Council of Representatives Speaker ِAhmed bin Ibrahim Al-Mulla highlighted the crucial meetings that HRH the Crown Prince had held with US President Donald Trump and other senior US Administration officials in Washington. He stressed the importance of the joint economic and military agreements which, he said, would further strengthen solid ties, create jobs for citizens and affirm Bahrain’s development and democratic strides, in light of the Free Trade Agreement (FTA) which was signed ten years ago. “Bahrain-US relations have thus heralded a more positive phase of cooperation in all fields”, he said describing counterterrorism, stability and development as top strategic priorities for both countries. The Speaker paid tribute to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa for his wise leadership, hailing the strenuous efforts of the Government, led by His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al-Khalifa. He commented the US stance against the Iranian interference in the region and support to terrorism in the world, underlining Bahrain’s active role in backing concerted international efforts to combat the scourge of terrorism and extremism. The Speaker said that Bahrain would witness more parliamentary cooperation with the United States, which was affirmed by HRH the Crown Prince during his meeting with the US House of Representatives Paul Ryan. Al-Mulla stressed Bahraini parliamentary visits to the US Congress and strong cooperation with the Congressional Leadership Development Program (CLDP).
