Speaker hails HM King's directives to reconsider pension laws

Manama, June 21 (BNA): Speaker Ahmed bin Ibrahim Al Mulla hailed the directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa to the government to reconsider the proposed pension laws in cooperation with Parliament, taking into consideration the views and remarks expressed during discussions in the Shura Council and the Council of Representatives, as well as the views expressed by citizens, writers, journalists across the various media channels. Al Mulla affirmed that the Royal directives of HM the King have met with all applause from the Kingdom of Bahrain’s people, their representatives in the Parliament, and the source of everyone’s pride and boasting in His Majesty, and a confirmation of leader’s keenness on fostering the interest of the nation and citizens, ensuring the most secure future, boosting the values of consultation and consensus, the partnership in national decision-making process, and effective communication between the citizens and the media channels and institutions. Al Mulla said the upcoming days will witness mutual meetings between members of Parliament (MPs), Shura councilors and representatives of the government, in harmony with the directives of HM the King, to explore all the views and supportive means to develop the work and future of pension funds, to ensure fulfillment of their future obligations, taking into consideration the critical stage witnessed by the pension funds, and the importance of cooperation and responsibility from all, in the interest of the homeland and citizens. The Speaker explained that the Parliament, upon the directives of HM the King, will cooperate with the honourable government to explore the development of the pension system in the Kingdom of Bahrain, to ensure preservation of citizens’ rights, and ensure financial stability of the pension funds through development of the funds’ investment and development areas to boost the diversification of sources of income that reflect in the improvement of the standard of services provided to pensioners in future. The Speaker praised the huge efforts and constant follow up of HRH Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa the Prime Minister, HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister. He called on all citizens, writers, journalists and all media as well as community organisations to cooperate and boost the national democratic values, consultation and consensus in harmony with HM the King’s reforms and to express all views and suggestions that will help boost the work of the pension funds and ensure the funds’ ideal future, whilst stressing the importance of surmounting the critical stage of the pension funds, and the necessity of national consensus regarding solutions and remedies in the interest of the homeland, citizens and the future.
