Speaker praises BIDEC 2019

Manama, Oct. 28 (BNA): Representatives Council Speaker Fawzia bint Abdullah Zainal has affirmed that Bahrain International Defence Exhibition and Conference (BIDEC 2019), which is held under the patronage of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, underlines the kingdom’s support to all sustainable development fields. She described the event as a platform to develop military capabilities and boost political and diplomatic cooperation. The Representatives Council Speaker pointed out that Bahrain’s hosting of BIDEC for the second time running, after the great success of the first edition, underscores the kingdom’s distinguished status as a major host of high profile international events. She commended the efforts of Representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Work and Youth Affairs, National Security Advisor, Royal Guard Commander, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports and Chairman of BIDEC 2019 High Organising Committee Major General HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa in ensuring success of the international event. The Representatives Council Speaker asserted that such functions will promote security and stability in the region and the whole world, stress the kingdom’s status and strategic location as well as its efforts in military technology. She also underscored the kingdom’s remarkable contribution, alongside the international community, to achieve the sustainable development goals, fight extremism and terrorism and back the international peace efforts.
