Speaker slams UN report on Yemen

Manama, June 6 (BNA): Council of Representatives Speaker Ahmed bin Ibrahim Al-Mulla slammed the recent UN report which accused the Arab Alliance of targeting children in Yemen. He condemned the allegations of UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, who accused the Arab Allied force of attacking civilians and children in Yemen. In a statement today, he urged the UN officials to ensure accuracy in their statements. "The international community is well aware that the Houthis use civilians and children as soldiers to attack residential areas", he said, defending the crucial role of the Arab Alliance forces which, he said, maintain security and stability, and protect the lives of civilians without any discrimination. Al-Mulla reiterated Bahrain’s support to all the steps taken by the Saudi-led Arab Alliance, hailing its pivotal role in maintaining regional security and stability, and ensuring state sovereignty and people’s unity.
