Speaker stresses Bahrain-US efforts to protect maritime navigation, global economy

Manama, Oct. 5 (BNA): Speaker of the Council of Representatives, Fawzia bint Abdulla Zainal, received here recently the US Ambassador to Bahrain, Justin Siberell. The two sides discussed ways to enhance the distinguished relations and cooperation between the two countries in various fields, especially the parliamentary one and regarding the joint parliamentary friendship committees. The speaker lauded the depth of the long-standing solid bilateral ties, in light of the good relations between His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and President Donald Trump. She also praised the great results of the recent visit of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister, citing HRH the Crown Prince’s meetings with US President and senior US Administration’s officials to consolidate bilateral cooperation in various fields and open up wider horizons for developing investments, as well as the agreements signed between the two countries on the sidelines of the visit. She underlined the kingdom’s constant keenness to cooperate with friendly USA on combating terrorism, ensuring the security and freedom of maritime navigation in the region, protecting the global economy and reaffirming the International Community’s joint stance vis-à-vis all challenges posing a threat to the world.
