Speaker stresses solidarity with the UAE

Manama, Jan. 26 (BNA): Council of Representatives Speaker Fawzia bint Abdulla Zainal hailed the quartet summit which was held today between His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the UAE Vice President, Prime Minister, Dubai Ruler Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces Shaikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi. She reiterated the Council of Representatives’ support to the outcome of the summit and solidarity with UAE , condemning the terrorist Houthis’ attacks which represent an affront to interntional laws and norms and a threat to global peace and security. Zainal underlined the importance of the quartet summit, noting that the current phase requires unified stances to bolster cooperation in order to achieve common interests, support Arab causes, maintain regional stability and peace and combat terrorism and extremism. She called for a unified Arab stances in support of the security of the United Arab Emirates, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the coalition states and all countries in the region against Houthis’ terrorism. The Speaker urged the Inter-parliamentary Union to adopt a firm stance to support regional security and stability and rejects the acts of the Houthi militias and terrorist groups.
