Special activities for King Rama X’s birthday

BANGKOK, July 23 (TNA) -- Many organisations conduct special activities to celebrate the 66th birthday anniversary of His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn on July 28. In Chiang Rai province, nine officers of the 37th Military Circle were ordained at Wat Meng Rai Maharat to honour His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Bodindradebayavarangkun and make merit for the late King Rama IX. In Phichit province, volunteers planted 66 yellow star trees to honor the king and raise public awareness on the importance of forests and united contribution to the nation. In Loei province, local Red Cross officials presented scholarships to Buddhist monks and novices. In Songkhla province, local people and volunteers planted 100 yellow star trees and about 1,000 other hardwood trees in a 10-rai land plot. Yellow star is the symbolic tree of His Majesty the King.
