Special Investigation Unit considers appealing court decision

10 : 10 PM - 17/03/2016 Manama, March 17 (BNA): Member of the Special Investigation Unit (SIU), Mohammed Khalid Bu Haza, today said the SIU is considering appealing a court decision to acquit a public security officer of physically attacking an inmate. Following an incident at the Reform and Rehabilitation Directorate on 30 June 2015, an officer was referred to court ‎by the SIU. Mohammed Khalid Bu Haza‎ confirmed that court acquitted the concerned individual, and that the SIU is currently studying the court decision, with the possibility of launching an appeal.
