SRT governor transferred to inactive post

BANGKOK, February 23 (TNA) - Thai Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-ocha, in his capacity as Chief of the army-led National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO), issued Section 44 of the Provisional Constitution 2014, ordering the transfer of Governor of the State Railway of Thailand (SRT) to an inactive post at the Prime Minister's Office and appointing a new SRT board, effective as of February 23. Under the order, SRT Governor Wutthichart Kanlayanamitr was removed and the new nine-member SRT board was set up, headed by Worawit Champeerat, former director-general of the Bureau of the Budget. Highways Department Deputy Director-General Anon Luangboriboon, who is a new SRT board member, was appointed to be the acting SRT governor until a further order to be issued by the prime minister.
