Strong Bahraini-Egyptian relations stressed

Cairo, Aug. 16 (BNA): President of Bahrain Journalists Association (BJA) Ahdiya Ahmed Al-Sayed affirmed that her election as the first woman to preside BJA is not strange in the Kingdom of Bahrain. She pointed out that Bahraini women were granted their political, social and educational rights as early as the 1920’s and through the comprehensive development project of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. In an interview with Egyptian Al-Akhbar newspaper, BJA President asserted strong ties binding Bahrain and Egypt. She also expressed hope more programmes will be implemented to exchange experiences and further consolidate relations with the Egyptian journalists syndicate. She added that BJA is currently working on very important issues including the Press Law which will be issued by end of this year. She also underlined the need for the Federation of Arab Journalists to strengthen communication with foreign organisations dealing with Arab issues in their reports.
