Strong Earthquake Hits Papua New Guinea

KUALA LUMPUR, May 16 (Bernama) -- A strong earthquake with a magnitude of 6.0 on the Richter scale hit Papua New Guinea (PNG) at 8.59 am Wednesday. According to a statement from the Malaysian Meteorological Department, the quake occurred in PNG New Britian Region, 44 km southwest Kimbe PNG and 3,649 km southeast of Semporna, Sabah.
