Strong Quake Hits Hokkaido, Japan

KUALA LUMPUR, May 24 (Bernama) -- An earthquake measuring 6.1 on the Richter scale hit Hokkaido, Japan at 11.02pm Wednesday night. The Meteorological Department, in a statement, said the epicentre of the quake was 122km northeast of Hachinohe, Japan and 4,592km northeast of Kudat, Sabah (east Malaysia).
