Surin's Elephant Roundup to honour late King

SURIN, Nov 19 (TNA) -- Thailand’s elephant town of Surin is organizing a grand performance and procession to honor late His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej. The northeastern city turns its annual elephant festival into a show of loyalty, respect and love towards the King who passsed away on October 13. Spanning four days, from November 17-20, the event draws over 100 elephants and tens of thousands to a number of shows. The highlight of the event takes place on Sunday, featuring three-pronged elephant performances. Lining up in parades, the jumbos will place flowers in front of a portrait of the King. Mahouts and their elephants will perform in many ways to show their respects to late King Bhumibol. (TNA)
