Sustainable Development Minister meets with UN General Assembly President

New York, July 13 (BNA): Minister of Sustainable Development, Noor bint Ali Al Khelif, asserted the importance of boosting cooperation between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the United Nations. This came during a meeting with President of the UN General Assembly Abdullah Shahid. The meeting was held on the sidelines of the minister’s participation in a high-profile political forum on sustainable development, which was held in the UN headquarters, in New York. The Minister of Sustainable Development pointed out Bahrain’s keenness to promote strategic partnership with the UN to implement the development goal. She underscored the kingdom’s commitment to achieving the goals of sustainable development 2030. For his part, the UN General Assembly President praised constructive cooperation between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the UN to achieve the goals of the international organization in various fields. He noted the prominent role of the Kingdom of Bahrain to boost security, stability and peace in the region and achieve the sustainable development goals. He also lauded the kingdom’s efforts to fight the coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic and provide treatment and vaccines for all people in the community.
