Syria, Iran to upgrade coop. in medical equipment

Shiraz, IRNA - Syrian and Iranian officials have discussed the expansion of collaborations between the two countries in terms of medical equipment and supplies. Director General of Medical Equipment and Supplies of Iran Food and Drug Administration (IFDA) Ruhollah Mazinani held talks with the director of the medical infrastructure and medical equipment of the Syrian Health Ministry on the sidelines of the first specialized exhibition of medical services, and health tourism as well as the 15th exhibition of medical equipment in Shiraz, Fars Province, on Saturday. Mazinani said that the two sides reached an agreement that gives the Syrians an opportunity to present a list of their medical requirements to the IFDA. The meetings between Syrian and Iranian officials are being held with the aim of presenting Iranians' experiences and engineering capabilities, he said, adding that the export of products made by Iranian knowledge-based companies to Syria is among the main topics of these negotiations. The Islamic Republic is ready to have a joint investment in Syria to set up a production line of medical equipment and supplies in the Arab country, he added. The first specialized exhibition of medical services, and health tourism as well as the 15th exhibition of medical equipment kicked off on Wednesday and it comes to an end on Saturday.
