Tariq Anwar edits “The Day of Resurrection”

TEHRAN,Dec. 4 (MNA) -- British-Indian film editor Tariq Anwar has recently completed editing “The Day of Resurrection”, a blockbuster movie focusing on the uprising of Imam Hussein (AS). Anwar was nominated for an Academy Award in 2011 for editing “The King’s Speech”. Directed by Ahmadreza Darvish, the film is in the postproduction stage in a London studio, the Public Relations Office of the film announced in a press release on Saturday. No name was mentioned for the studio. A 3D computer-generated imagery (CGI) technique has been used to create some scenes from the film. The project introduces Arash Asefi who plays Bakir, the son of the commander of Ubaydullah ibn Ziad, Horr ibn Yazid Riahi, who joined the companions of Imam Hussein the night before Ashura, the day upon which Imam Hussein (AS) and his companions were martyred. Puria Pursorkh, Hassan Purshirazi, Farhad Qaemian, Babak Hamidian, Anshirvan Arjmand and 19 other actors are the main members of the cast. The film also stars “Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire” actor David Sterne, and Talhat Hamdi and Fawaz Sarwar from Syria, Dawood Hussain from Kuwait, Yusuf Shekarchi from Iraq and several other foreign actors. The film will premiere in 2012.
