TAT governor attended ASEAN Tourism Forum in Singapore
SINGAPORE, Jan 19 (TNA) -- The Governor of the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) Yuthasak Supasorn has arrived in Singapore to attend the ASEAN Tourism Forum.
The governor led an entourage of 82 Thai tourism entrepreneurs to attend the ASEAN Tourism Forum in Singapore, as well as to set up booths to promote Thai tourism at Marina Bay Sands Expo and Convention Centre, targeting to create alliances on meetings and tourism at the ASEAN level.
Meanwhile, the forum would serve as a platform for Thailand to show off notable tourism potential, aiming to create a good impression for foreign tourists and widen their horizons and experiences through creative tourism activities, such as seminars and meetings participation, and the learning of the how to produce rice.
The TAT governor also displayed Thailand's readiness to become the host of the next ASEAN Tourism Forum, scheduled to be held between January 22-26, 2018 in the northern Chiang Mai province, which would be stressed on the promotion of tourism experience creation, which is expected to help bring in more a complete organising of tourism seminars.
The TAT has further planned to increase the number Singaporean tourists to the country to exceed 1 million, and hike the number of ASEAN tourist arrivals from nine other member countries to 11 million from the previous figure of 8.6 million to help generate an income of around 290 billion baht.
