Tehran Gallery to display illustrations by Iranian, French students
TEHRAN,Dec. 1(MNA) -- The Tehran Gallery will display artworks created by Iranian and French illustrations students from December 11.
Following an agreement between Paris’ National Superior School of Decorative Arts and the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Tehran, the art students from the two academic centers held a showcase in Paris last year and this year they will hold an exhibit in Tehran.
The students created artworks on the theme of “Tehran and Paris” for the exhibition. Each side tried to introduce their nationality and identity and also portray the other side, which is really interesting, the head of graphic and photo department of the University of Tehran told the Persian service of ILNA.
Mostafa Asadollahi said that each student has two works in the showcase. In one, they depict their mental picture of their cities.
He said that the project is the first joint program between these two academic centers, calling the showcase “a big phenomenon” in which the talents of Iranian students are exposed internationally.
A total of 46 Iranian and French artists attend the event and 184 artworks will go on display at the showcase, the secretary of the exhibit and university professor Hamidreza Noruzitalab told the Persian service of ILNA.
Entitled “Two View Exchange”, the showcase will be attended by professors of the Parisian school during the opening ceremony, he added.
He said that they will also hold workshops for illustration students and expressed his hope that they continue their cooperation.
Noruzitalab announced that the joint programs will continue since both parties were satisfied with cooperation.
The Embassy of France in Tehran also is supporting the event which will be held at the gallery located on Ghods St., Enqelab Ave.
