Tehran-Minsk Cooperation Expansion Underlined

Tehran, March 7, IRNA – Tehran-Minsk expansion of cooperation was underlined in a meeting between Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi and Belarusian Prime Minister Mikhail Myasnikovich. According to the report of Foreign Ministry Media Department, Salehi, who is in Minsk, met with Belarusian PM on Tuesday afternoon. Salehi said that Iranian president intends to expand ties with Belarus with a special approach. Conveying warm greetings of Iran First VP Mohammad Reza Rahimi to his Belarusian counterpart, Salehi, on behalf of Rahimi, invited Myasnikovich to pay a visit to Iran. Referring to geo-political positions of Iran and Belarus, Salehi said goods and passengers transit to other countries is possible which can form multilateral cooperation. Belarusian PM expressed hope that the Iranian delegation visit could open a new page in bilateral cooperation. He added that Belarus intends to execute all past agreements between the two countries. Myasnikovich, by referring to the recent 11th meeting of joint economic commission, called it constructive and expressed hope that the meeting could help promotion of economic cooperation between Tehran and Minsk. He also expressed his country's interest in more participation of Iranian private sector in construction projects in Belarus./end
