Thai-Cambodian Provincial Governors to meet

BANGKOK, Aug 19 (TNA) - The sixth Thai-Cambodian Provincial Governors meeting will be held in the Cambodian capital of Phnom Penh next week, said a spokesman of Thai Interior Ministry. The three-day meeting, starting Aug 23, is aimed at further strengthening relations between the two Southeast Asian countries. Interior Minister General Anupong Paojinda will lead the Thai side while Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Sar Kheng will head the Cambodian side during the meeting. Major issues to be discussed at the meeting include cross-border agreement, trade and investment along the border and tourism cooperation. Gen. Anupong is scheduled to pay a courtesy call on Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen during his stay there. (TNA)
