Thai marionette troupe to join World Puppet Carnival in Poland

BANGKOK, September 15 (TNA) - Thailand's marionette troupe, sponsored by the state-run Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), will participate in the World Puppet Carnival 2016, set to be held in Poland during September 24-30. On September 14, TAT Governor Yuthasak Supasorn welcomed and gave moral support to the Nartthaya Burapha marionette troupe as the Thai representative to showcase the Thai culture to the world audience through the marionettes, featuring Thai traditional dancing. The founder of Nartthaya Burapha troupe, Orapin Kornwatin, told journalists that the highlight of the show from Thailand is “the First Human in the World”, which is the mixture of puppeteer and marionette acts. Orapin said the young Thai team, aged 6-24 years old, is more than 100 per cent ready to present the show, together with all other 53 international teams. Orapin revealed that the Thai team, scheduled to leave Thailand on September 22, was selected to perform at the opening and the closing ceremonies of the upcoming World Puppet Carnival 2016. (TNA)
