Thai Permanent secretaries urged to work as a team
BANGKOK, October 14 (TNA) - Thai Prime Minister YingluckShinawatra has urged permanent secretaries of all ministries to work as a team for national strength, in the lead-up to the formation of the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) by 2015.
Addressing the permanent secretaries, part of them are newly-appointed who have assumed duty since October 1, Yingluck said that all the permanent secretaries and other senior civil servants have worked for the government for a long time and have obtained experiences.
Yingluck suggested, as they are working in the same administration, they should cooperate with each other for public and national interests.
A government spokeswoman, meanwhile, told journalists that Premier Yingluck has allowed the senior civil servants to display their visions and to propose ideas on further developing the country.
The spokeswoman revealed that the prime minister also laid out three strategies for the country ahead of the establishment of the Single Economic Community of the 10-member Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), including boosting national competitiveness, fair income distribution and advancing the country by taking environment concerns into consideration.
