BANGKOK, February 28 (TNA) - Thai Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra arrived in Malaysia on Thursday afternoon for a one-day visit to attend the 5th Annual Consultation between the two neighbouring countries. Accompanied by her entourage, including Thai Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Surapong Tovichakchaikul, Defence Minister Air Chief Marshal Sukumpol Suwanatat, Energy Minister Pongsak Raktapongpaisal, Interior Minister Charupong Ruangsuwan, Transport Minister Chadchat Sittipunt, Army Chief General Prayuth Chan-ocha, National Police Chief Police General Adul Saengsingkaew, Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs Seehasak Phuangketkeow, Secretary-General of the National Economic and Social Development Board (NESDB) Arkhom Termpittayapaisith and Director-General of the National Intelligence Agency (NIA) Suwaphan Tanyuvardhana, Yingluck is scheduled to have bilateral talks with her Malaysian counterpart Najib Razak, after her arrival in Putrajaya City at about 2.30pm local time. Issues set to be discussed between the Thai and Malaysian sides include prisoner transfer, extradition, border cooperation, human trafficking prevention and suppression and cross-border transport. The Thai and the Malaysian prime ministers are also scheduled to discuss energy and petrochemical cooperation, as Malaysia plans to sell 200 megawatts of electricity to Thailand during a disruption of natural gas supply to Thailand from Myanmar in April 2013. Besides, the Thai and Malaysian leaders are scheduled to witness the signing of agreements on cross-border transport and cooperation on youth affairs and sports. The Malaysian prime minister will then host a dinner banquet for Premier Yingluck and her entourage at 8pm local time, before returning to Thailand at 11pm Thailand time. (TNA)
