Thai PM holds bilateral talks with Tajik President

KUWAIT, October 17 (TNA) - Thai Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra has held bilateral talks with Tajik President Emomalii Rahmon in Kuwait, during which both sides agreed to expand cooperation on two-way trade and investment, as well as to boost ties between their citizens covering cultural exchanges and tourism. The two leaders met on Wednesday, on the sidelines of this year's Asia Cooperation Dialogue (ACD) in Kuwait, during with the Thai premier also congratulated Tajikistan for being selected as the host of the ACD Ministerial Meeting in May, 2013. The two leaders also expressed their appreciation to strengthened relations between Tajikistan and Thailand, in the wake of the opening of the first Thai Embassy in Central Asia, situated in Astana, Kazakhstan's capital, with its jurisdiction covering Tajikistan. On the occasion, the Thai prime minister stressed Thailand's important roles in East Asia and expressed her hope that Thailand and Tajikistan will further strengthen bilateral relations in all areas.
