Thai PM inspects floods in Thai North
PITSANULOK, September 14 (TNA) - Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra has continued inspecting the flooding situation in the Lower Thai North, affirming that inundations this year have remained under control.
On the second day of her flood inspection trip, Yingluck and her entourage visited a water monitoring station of the Nan River in Pitsanulok Province and found, through surveillance cameras, that water levels in the Nan River have been normal and local warning systems have functioned well.
Yingluck then visited the Tha Chang locality in Pitsanulok's Phrom Phiram District, where she ordered local officials to help flood-affected villagers as torrents in the Yom River have destroyed their transport routes.
The prime minister is scheduled to travel to the Thai South Friday afternoon to inspect drought and impacts from a recent forest fire in Nakhon Si Thammarat Province and to visit affected villagers. (TNA)
