Thai PM sends best wishes and happiness on Thai New Year
BANGKOK, April 4 (TNA) -- Prime Minister Gen Prayuth Chan-o-cha sent a message ahead of the festive occasion of the Thai New Year or Songkran Festival, wishing all Thai people happiness and prosperity.
Before the today's weekly Cabinet meeting, Culture Minister Vira Rojpojchanarat, together with the network from 14 agencies had organised an activity to celebrate the upcoming Songkran Festival 2017.
The event was held to promote the organising of a Thai-style Songkran, where water should be used wisely and commuters should be extra careful on the roads, as well as strictly adhere to traffic laws to prevent road accidents.
The premier visited every activity booth, after which he also wrote a card wishing everyone happiness and to stay fresh and safe during the Songkran Festival, along with asked all Thai people to help preserve the country's Thai-style water festival for future generations, asking them to be proud of the beautiful culture and to be a good host.
Moreover, the premier has asked all governors to implement stricter control on alcohol consumption and to organise areas for water splashing to help provide more safety for festival goers. (TNA)
