Thai PM visiting Lao PDR for 9th ASEM

BANGKOK, November 5 (TNA) - Thai Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra is visiting neighbouring Lao PDR to attend the 9th Asian Europe Meeting (ASEM), scheduled for November 4-6. Upon her arrival in Vientiane, Lao PDR's capital, Monday morning, Yingluck was received by the Lao foreign minister, who also briefed her on relevant issues, and later held bilateral talks with her Polish, Norwegian and Italian counterparts. Accompanied by her entourage, including Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Surapong Tovichakchaikul, Minister Attached to the Prime Minister's Office Sansanee Nakpong and Secretary to the Prime Minister Suranant Vejjajiva, the Thai prime minister is scheduled to attend the inauguration of the 9th ASEM at Lao PDR's National Convention Centre Monday afternoon and to then join other Asian and European leaders in attending a dinner reception, hosted by the Lao President and his wife this evening.
