Thai PM visits Malaysia for ICBOS

BANGKOK, August 15 (TNA) - Thai Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-ocha is scheduled to leave for Malaysia on August 16 to attend the three-day International Conference on Blue Ocean Strategy (ICBOS), during which he will, among others, publicize his government's Thailand 4.0 policy. Deputy Government Spokesman Major General Werachon Sukondhapatipak told journalists of the information on Monday, saying that ICBOS will be held in Putrajaya during August 16-18. The deputy spokesman stated that ICBOS was initiated by Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak as a platform for constructive cooperation among participating countries amid highly competition in global trade and investment. The deputy spokesman noted that international cooperation promoted under ICBOS will not be focused on existing global market demand or competition, but will create new market demand and industries with joint and constructive management in accordance with potential of each country. On the occasion, the deputy government spokesman revealed, the Thai prime minister will also exchange ideas and visions with leaders of other participating countries and will inform them of Thailand’s reformed development policy to strengthen national fundamentals, covering a 20-year national strategy toward sustainable development and Thailand 4.0, aimed to enhance national competitiveness based on creative innovations toward firm national economic growth with equity and on parallel growth with other fellow member countries in the ASEAN Community (AC). Countries to take part in the three-day ICBOS, themed "Transforming Nations Through Creativity and Innovation", include Cambodia, Fiji, Malaysia, Maldives, Papua New Guinea, Swaziland, Thailand and Timor–Leste.
