Thai police arrest two Bulgarians for using fake ATM cards

BANGKOK, October 18 (TNA) - Police from the Technology Crime Suppression Division have arrested two Bulgarian men allegedly for creating fake ATM cards and using them to steal money from people in Thailand. Rosen Georgief Evstatiev and Georgi Kirilov Gusev were arrested on the basement of Ploenchit Center shopping Center in Bangkok’s Sukhumvit area while withdrawing money with fake ATM cards. In a search of their room at a hotel on Sukhumvit Road, police found 72 electronic cards, 107,000 baht and 200 euros in cash, a computer and a magnetic stripe reader/writer. According to the police, the suspects confessed that they had stolen financial information from clients of oversea banks and used the computer and the skimmer to create fake cards. Initially, the suspects were charged with computer crime, possessing and using fake electronic cards, and illegally accessing protected computer-based information. (TNA)
