Thais prefer watching YouTube:Google survey
BANGKOK, October 13 (TNA) - A latest survey by Google, a world largest online search engine service, has found that Thai people prefer watching YouTube, rather than television and most Thai YouTube viewers watch through smart phones.
Michael Jittivanich, Google Thailand's marketing chief, told journalists of the survey results on October 12, noting that 87 per cent of Thai YouTube viewers were found to have watched via mobile phones.
According to the Google survey, the Thai YouTube viewers spent 1.9 hours a day on average with 34 minutes per visit.
The survey also found that the major group of the 61 per cent YouTube fans is teenagers, reasoning good video quality, easy search for wanted videos and more interesting contents on YouTube.
About 81 per cent of the respondents said they thought about YouTube first when they wanted to watch videos.
The most popular content among Thai YouTube viewers are Thai music videos, followed by general entertainment, movies, foreign music videos and funny content.
The survey found that a YouTube strong point is its easy access to wanted contents. (TNA)
