Third meeting of Judicial Reform Council under President-photo report

Bishkek, Dec.11, 2019. /Kabar/. Yesterday, Dec. 10, 2019 President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sooronbay Jeenbekov held the third meeting of the Judicial Reform Council. The meeting was held at the Ala-Archa state residence. The President noted positive developments in the implementation of judicial reform and highlighted the main shortcomings. He stressed there is political will and an opportunity to fully digitalize the judicial system, but the success of the reforms depends not only on the means, on the types of technology, but primarily on the personal qualities, honesty and decency of judges. The Council heard reports from Deputy Prime Minister Jenish Razakov, Prosecutor General Otkurbek Dzhamshitov, Chairwoman of the Supreme Court Gulbara Kaliyeva, Minister of Internal Affairs Kashkar Dzhunushaliyev, Minister of Justice Marat Dzhamankulov, Chairman of the State Service for Combating Economic Crimes Bakir Taiyrov on the application of new codes and laws, as well as on the development and promotion of draft laws, aimed at improving the new legislation. In the course of the discussion, deputies of the Jogorku Kenesh, members of the Council and representatives of non-governmental organizations expressed their opinions on the implementation of the judicial and legal reform. At the end of the meeting, a draft decision of the third meeting of the Judicial Reform Council was adopted, taking into account proposals and comments. Note that the first meeting of the Judicial Reform Council under the President of the Kyrgyz Republic was held on May 17, 2018, the second meeting took place on Dec.28, 2018.
