Tourists flock to Doi Inthanon
CHIANG MAI, Oct 31 (TNA) - Dropping temperature in the northern province of Chiang Mai draws a number of tourists to Doi Inthanon, Thailand’s highest mountain, which is normally popular in winter for tourists to see frozen dew.
Head of the Inthanon national park, Rung Hirunwong said the temperature started to drop on the top of the mountain to the lowest at 6 degrees Celsius and 9 degrees Celsius at Kiew Mae Pan and 14 degrees Celsius at the national park’s office.
If the weather continues to be favourable, there is much chance that frozen dew and hoar frost will happen definitely, he said.
The park recorded 2,458 tourist arrivals on Monday. The meteorological department in the North forecast the temperature will drop by 2-4 degrees Celsius on November 4-5 with strong wind and slight rain. (TNA)
