Trang crash kills 4 rescue workers while on duty

TRANG, May 7 (TNA) – A speeding pickup truck crashed into rescue vehicles in the middle of the night, killing four people who were on duty to aid an injured motorcyclist on a highway in Thailand’s southern province of Trang. The road accident, immediately causing four deaths and five injuries in total, occurred on Phetkasem Road in Trang’s provincial seat around 1.30 a.m. local time. All of the injured, including rescue workers, a police officer, and a driver of the pickup truck, reportedly were under critical conditions. A rescue worker who managed to survive the deadly collision said the black pickup truck with a Trang license plate travelled at high speeds towards the site where he and his colleagues were providing emergency medical care for a victim of a motorcycle crash. He suspected brake problems of the cause of the accident. (TNA)
