Transportation Minister receives ITU Regional Representative

Manama, Dec. 12 (BNA): Minister of Transportation and Telecommunication, Mohammed bin Thamer Al Ka’abi, asserted the importance of boosting international cooperation and coordination to develop the telecommunication sector. He praised the role of the UN International Telecommunication Union (ITU) in harnessing the international efforts and exchanging experiences. The minister was speaking as he received ITU Regional Representative, Director of Cairo-based Regional Office of the International Telecommunication Union for the Arab States, Adel Mohammed Darwish. They discussed ways of boosting cooperation between Bahrain and ITU and reviewed future projects in the telecommunication sector. The ITU Regional Representative praised the efforts of the Transportation and Telecommunication Ministry to consolidate the kingdom’s standing in the telecommunication sector. He underlined ITU keenness to boost cooperation between both sides to improve services.
