Tribute to Bahraini women

Manama, Nov. 30 (BNA): Fifty Bahraini women featuring on the waiting lists will be provided housing services marking the Bahraini Women’s Day, which falls on December 1. Housing Minister Basim bin Yacoub Al-Hamer announced the move on the eve of the annual celebration which honours this year women working in the engineering field. He paid tribute to Bahraini women, describing them as an essential partner in society and a key pillar of the development process led by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa. He extended congratulations to Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al-Khalifa, Wife of HM the King and President of the Supreme Council for Women (SCW), hailing her crucial role in supporting and empowering women. In the statement, the minister paid tribute to Bahraini women working in the engineering sector which witnessed landmark strides over the past years. "Bahraini engineers are playing a crucial role in building thousands of flats and houses, under the order of HM the King to construct 40,000 units", he said. He said that women on the waiting lists were provided 1474 services, including housing units, flats, temporary apartments, funding packages and land plots. Al-Hamer commended cooperation between the Ministry of Housing and the Supreme Council for Women, pledging to continue supporting and empowering women through the equal opportunity unit.
