Trout feed production plant to be built in Kyrgyzstan

Bishkek, June 3, 2022. / Kabar /. The Russian-Kyrgyz Development Fund (RKDF) has started financing a new project in the field of increasing the sustainability of the aquaculture sector. The RKDF said that a plant for the production of extruded feed for trout will be built in Kyrgyzstan at the expense of the fund. The project is being implemented by Salih LTD LLC, which intends to equip the enterprise with the latest equipment and in accordance with all international requirements. The capacity of the plant will reach 3.6 thousand tons of products per year, and production volumes will cover about 30-50% of feed consumption in the Kyrgyz market, while the cost of feed decreases by 30%. New jobs will be created at the plant, and tax payments to the country's budget will be increased. This is the first project that allows to completely structure the content of the food base for fish according to the most modern standards. The company has a modern laboratory for quality control of feed. The presence of such a laboratory is one of the main requirements for the sale of products on the market of the Kyrgyz Republic and its export. This project is aimed at developing domestic production and reducing dependence on fish feed imports. In addition, it is planned to export up to 30% of products to the EAEU countries. “We expect that thanks to the project, the cost of feed for the domestic fish industry will decrease by 30-50%. This is one of the pilot projects of the RKDF in the integrated development of the country's fish farming industry. We also finance projects for the breeding and processing of fish and the construction of cage farms. In the future, we expect to form a full-fledged cluster of the fish farming industry - from feed production to the export of finished products to foreign markets,” Artem Novikov, the chairman of the Board of the Russian-Kyrgyz Development Fund noted.
