TRT may suspend its partnership with Euronews

ANKARA (A.A) - January 23, 2012 - Turkish public broadcaster TRT is getting prepared to suspend its partnership with Euronews, if a bill which penalizes denial of the Armenian allegations on 1915 incidents is approved. In 2009, TRT became a shareholder in Lyon-based Euronews, and joined its supervisory board. TRT purchased 15.5% of the channel's shares and became one of the main partners. Officials said that TRT's suspension of its partnership would negatively affect news television channel Euronews. French Senate will vote today a bill which penalizes denial of the Armenian allegations on 1915 incidents with a prison term of one year and a fine of 45,000 euro.
