Turkmenistan, Ashgabat, Nov. 1 / Trend H. Hasanov /
The network of trunk roads will be fully reconstructed and new highways with the necessary road infrastructure will be built in Turkmenistan by 2015, the Turkmen Institute of Strategic Planning and Economic Development said today.
'Their total length is about 1700 kilometres', a statement said. 'The world standard is the basic characteristic of the Ashgabat-Karakum-Dashoguz and Turkmenbashi- Ashgabat- Farabi roads being laid across the country now'.
Dozens of facilities namely modern transport interchanges, bridges and overpasses that will reduce highway congestion and ensure mudflow protection and traffic safety are being built along these highways.
According to the Road Transport Ministry, the growth in cargo and passenger transport hit 102.5 per cent for the first nine months of 2013 compared to the same period of 2012.
