Tunisian cineastes meet Iranian foreign minister
TEHRAN,Nov. 14 (MNA) -- a delegation of Tunisian cultural figures and cineastes discussed cultural ties during a meeting with the Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi on Saturday.
During the meeting, Salehi pointed to the important role of cultural figures and artists in fulfillment of aspirations of nations which experienced a revolution recently.
He expressed the happiness of Iranians toward the victory of the Tunisian revolution which paved the way for other countries in the Middle East and the Arab world.
“We wish for the development of bilateral relations between our two countries after the new government is established in Tunis,” he said.
The head of the Tunisian delegation Fathi Ben Othman speaking as the representative of his country thanked the Iranian people and government for supporting their revolution.
At the event, celebrated cineaste Sonia Chamkhi also thanked Iranian officials for providing the opportunity for their visit to Iran.
Iranian Deputy Culture Minister for Cinematic Affairs Javad Shamaqdari hosted Tunisian cinematographers at the venue of the ministry on Tuesday.
Last week, the Iranian cultural attaché to Tunisia Sedeq Ramezani also told the Persian service of Fars News Agency that the first Iranian cultural week will be held in Tunis under the title of “cultural exchanges” from December 9.
