Turkey to be among fastest growing economies in Europe, Turkish deputy premier says

ANKARA (A.A) - Turkey's deputy prime minister has estimated that the country's economy would be one of the fastest growing economies in Europe in 2012. "We have achieved high growth figures in both 2010 and 201. And we will be one of the fastest growing economies in Europe in 2012 despite some drop in the growth figure," Ali Babacan told Turkey-Czech Republic Business Forum held in the Turkish capital, Ankara.  Babacan said prior to the global crisis Turkey had made some major improvements in its banking sector and public finance as well as reforming social security and health system. "We made reforms between 2002 and 2007 in all areas which are now hot points of growing discussion in Europe. And they saved us from global crisis fallout," Babacan said.  Babacan said confidence in economy management in a country constituted the foundations upon which the country's treasury, fiscal system and business world stood.
