Turkey leader in Europe with number of trademarks

ANKARA (A.A) - Turkey has left behind France in 2011 with the number of applications for 120,000 trademarks and became Europe's leader. Speaking to the Anadolu Agency (AA), the chairman of the Turkish Patent Institute Prof. Dr. Habip Asan said that they began to reap the fruits of their efforts made in the recent years. There is serious awareness in Turkey when it comes to trademarks, Dr. Asan said. In 2011, there were applications for around 120,000 trademarks in Turkey. Turkey, for the first time in history, has become the leading country in Europe with the number of applications for trademarks.
