Turkey prefers solutions excluding use of straits

KIEV (A.A) - Turkey's energy and natural resources minister said on Wednesday that Turkey preferred solutions in which straits were not used. Taner Yildiz said the 150-160 million tons of transition capacity of Turkish straits had physically been filled up. "We prefer solutions in which straits are not used," Yildiz said after meeting Ukrainian Minister of Energy & Coal Industry Yuriy Boyko in Kiev. Yildiz said Turkey was making natural gas trade with five countries and oil trade with 11 countries, and noted that Turkey had increased oil exploration initiatives by 12-folds in the last nine years. Minister Yildiz later left Kiev for Turkey.
