Turkey to prepare special development program for quake-hit eastern province

ANKARA (A.A) - February 9, 2012 - Turkey's development minister said on Thursday that Turkey would prepare a special development program for the quake-hit eastern province of Van. Cevdet Yilmaz said the government was preparing a new program to develop Van and surrounding provinces. "Our ministry has sent bureaucrats to Van to carry out local studies," Yilmaz told AA correspondent. Yilmaz said the program would become clear within a few months, and it would contribute to not only Van but also the entire region.
