Turkish deputy energy minister invites Czech businesspeople to invest in Turkey
ANKARA (A.A) - Turkish deputy energy minister has called on Czech businesspeople to invest in Turkey's energy sector, which he said offered great opportunities.
"Turkey's electricity demand is estimated to reach 520 billion kilowatt hours a year by 2023. This alone tells about great many opportunities that Turkey offers for Czech businesspeople," Murat Mercan told a meeting of the Turkey-Czech Republic Business Forum in the Turkish capital, Ankara.
Mercan said global energy demand was expected to triple between 2010 and 2015, adding that half that demand would be claimed by China and India alone.
Mercan said share of renewable energy was expected to increase from a current five percent to 30 percent in overall energy production in Turkey by 2023, adding that the country needed to make energy investments worth 120 billion USD by 2023.
