Turkish police arrest four foreigners on charges of illicit drug trafficking

ISTANBUL (A.A) - February 20, 2012 - Turkish narcotic teams arrested four foreigners in Istanbul on charges of illicit drug trafficking on Monday. Acting on a tip-off, narcotic teams launched an operation on an illicit drug trafficking gang in Istanbul's Buyukcekmece neighborhood. Narcotic teams seized almost 30 kilograms of heroin in a flat and a car in Buyukcekmece, and detained four foreigners and four Turkish citizens in connection with the haul. Court sent all the detainees to prison. Police said the heroin was brought to Turkey from Iran, and was destined for European countries via Albania.
